Babae Laban sa Korupsyon (BALAK) on Friday, Feb. 5, urged the Commission on Election (Comelec) First Division to release its decision on the disqualification cases against presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

In a statement, the group called on the poll body to release the decision "to remove any doubt on the integrity of the Comelec" as the May 2022 elections draw closer.
"We furthermore demand the release at the earliest possible of the decision on the Marcos disqualification case," BALAK said.
"With only days left until the campaign season, it is but fair that the public be informed of how the disqualification case against Marcos was resolved," it stressed.
BALAK also expressed concern over former Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon's allegation that a certain senator was behind the delay in the release of the decision.
"BALAK demands a prompt and thorough investigation into allegations that undue outside influence was exerted on the disqualification cases vs Ferdinand Marcos Jr.," it said.
Last week, Guanzon disclosed that she voted to disqualify Marcos Jr. as she believed that there "is really moral turpitude based on evidence and the law."
The consolidated cases against Marcos Jr. were expected to be resolved on Jan. 17.
