It seems so.
In Mega magazine's most recent issue, Cherie is revealed to be in New York.
No, she's not there for a film or TV series.
She is there to find herself.
Apparently, she's been unhappy here for some time as exacerbated by the ongoing pandemic.
“That’s when things became more apparent to me that it’s not an easy progression for the industry to compete with the challenge. And I could not actually go on waiting,” she said.

Cherie is hoping that the move will help her "start over."
“I just had to make sure that first and foremost, my mental, emotional, spiritual states were getting the priority. I was getting tired of myself. And I was just so angry and unhappy," she said.
"So I sold everything and packed up.”
Note that Cherie now sports a bald look as seen on the cover of the magazine.
"It’s symbolic to my personal growth. When a woman is in distress, she cuts her hair," she explained.
She is not sure when and if she'll return to acting.
For now, she's just happy embarking on a journey rediscovering herself.
“I’m completely finding myself and coming to terms with who I really am. It’s just great to have this opportunity and to be alive to start over. It’s like a rebirth of sorts,” she said.
