Thirdy's San-En faces tall order vs Ryukyu

Thirdy Ravena and Kobe Paras are among the few Filipino players slated to see action in the final weekend before Japan’s B.League takes a long break due to the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.

Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix face a difficult task in their bid to end a six-game skid when they visit the tough Ryukyu Golden Kings for a two-game series while Paras and Niigata Albirex face the Gunma Crane Thunders twice on their home floor.

Matthew Aquino could see action for the Shinshu Brave Warriors for two games opposite the Kyoto Hannaryz while it’s still unknown if Javi Gomez de Liano will be activated by the Ibaraki Robots ahead of their twin duel with the Dwight Ramos-less Toyama Grouses.

The Aomori Wat’s, who have only given Kemark Carino sparring minutes since his arrival, are also slated for two games with the Kagawa Five Arrows in the B.League’s second division.

More than half of the group of Filipino cagers in Japan could see action after games of other teams were postponed due to COVID-19.

Ray Parks Jr. and Kiefer Ravena will again not see action as the matches of the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and Shiga Lakestars due to the league’s health and safety protocols.

And it appears that both Parks and Ravena may have to wait longer before their teams get the green light to return to action.

Ramos, on the other hand, will not play this weekend after he flew back to Manila to join Gilas Pilipinas’ preparations for the World Cup Qualifiers.
