Team Secret, Fennel Adversity get invites to WCS-PH regular season

Team Secret and Fennel Adversity are already assured of a spot in the group stage of the Wild Rift SEA Champion – Philippines which is set to kick off on Feb. 25.

The Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) announced on Friday, Feb. 4 that the top two squad of last year’s Wild Rift SEA Icon series are directly invited to the regular season.

“These two contenders are returning to the Rift! Team Secret and Fennel Adversity are directly invited to the Wild Rift Champions SEA - Philippines Group Stages this coming February 25th,” wrote PPGL in a post on its official Facebook page.

Team Secret and Fennel Adversity will wait for the six other squads in the group stage which will be determined through the qualifiers.

All registered teams will play in the first round of the qualifiers which will be in a Swiss System Format. The eight best teams at the end of the round will get the ticket to the knockout stage. The knockout round will be in a double-elimination format with the top six squads advancing to the regular season group stage.

Fennel, Team Secret and the six other teams will then engage in a double-round robin format in the group stage. Bottom two teams will get eliminated from the tournament while the six remaining teams will battle for the lion’s share of the $160,000 prize pool and the right
