Robin Padilla clarifies advice to Aljur Abrenica over cheating issue

Actor Robin Padilla was recently interviewed by seasoned broadcast journalist Karen Davila.

The ABS-CBN reporter asked the 52-year-old action star: "Will Robin Padilla will be a good example in the Senate?"

Karen then recalled Robin's viral statement about his daughter Kylie Padilla and estranged husband Aljur Abrenica's marital woes.

"Sinabi mo it is the nature of men to cheat. Madaming nagalit sayo," Karen started. Binabawi mo ba yun?"

Robin confidently answered: "No. No, Ma'am.

So what did he mean exactly, Karen followed up.

He reiterated: "Hindi ko kailan man sinabi man cheat tayo, man!"

Recall that last year, Robin confirmed Kylie and Aljur's breakup citing the latter's alleged infidelity.

Robin said he has nothing against it, declaring "Sa panahon ngayon, huwag tayong maglokohan, pare.

In a separate interview with his wife of 11 years, Mariel Rodriguez, Robin reiterated that what he said is based on his experience.

“Ako, e, nagsasalita sa aking experience. Experience ‘yon nung ako ay nasa tugatog ng aking kasikatan,” he related. “Ang tukso ay realidad. Kasama sa every day life.”

Asked if he ever cheated during their relationship, Robin quipped: “Pinapayagan mo naman ako tumingin-tingin.”

But turning serious he added, “Hindi lahat ng tukso ibig sabihin you fell for it.”
