Mayor Isko makes it to Tatler Asia's list of 'Most Influential Asians'

Lifestyle and luxury magazine Tatler Asia listed Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso as one of the “Most Influential Asians” in 2021.

Tatler Asia cited Domagoso for reforming the Philippine’s capital city.

“His reformation of the city of Manila is so apparent as he drove businesses to a record high with tax reforms and technological investments. The city got a face lift and became, for lack of a better term, Instagrammable. Most importantly, he launched a successful mass housing campaign that provided low-cost homes for 2,000 of the poorest families,” reads Tatler Asia’s profile on Domagoso.

The personalities in Asia’s Most Influential (AMI) list, chosen by the Tatler Asia editorial board, have pushed for positive developments within Asia through politics, journalism, arts, media, sports, and business.

Domagoso thanked the Tatler Asia team for recognizing him as one of the Most Influential Asians for the year 2021.

“Thank you very much Tatler for including me in the Asia's Most Influential list. I am humbled and honored to be included in the list. Hayaan po ninyo pagbubutihin ko pa lalong maglingkod ng maayos at maging inspirasyon sa publiko at sa kabataan. Patuloy nating itatawid ang buhay at kabuhayan ng ating mga kababayan (I will work harder to serve the people and to be an inspiration to the public and the youth. We will continue to uplift the lives of our countrymen),” Domagoso said in a Facebook post on Thursday, Feb. 3.

The AMI 2021 was launched on Dec. 6, 2021, selecting 300 influential individuals in each of the following countries in Asia: Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

Other notable Filipinos recognized in the AMI 2021 included Nobel Peace Prize winner journalist Maria Ressa, Olympic gold medalist weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, Vice President Leni Robredo, and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto.
