Grindsky Eris tops GGTY in Sibol Finals, clinches SEAG spot

Grindsky Eris topped GGTY, 3-1, in their best-of-five Grand Finals match in the Wild Rift Women’s 2022 Sibol National Team Selection on Friday, Feb. 4.

Grindsky, which won the SEA Esports Championship 2021, clinched the Sibol spot and will be representing the country once again, this time, in the Wild Rift Women’s Division in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam in May.

The veteran squad stamped its class in the four-game stretch, riding two lopsided victories to open up the series and never looked back from that point.

Hell Girl was at the forefront of the attack unleashing an 8-4-2 showing on the Darius in the 21-14 Game 1 win and an 8-0-4 performance on the Fiora in Grindsky’s 18-3 Game 2 domination of GGTY.

She even scored a quadrakill in Game 1 which led to Grindsky scoring Ace at the 19-minute mark and eventually drawing the series’ first blood.

Hell Girl followed it up by scoring two triple kills in Game 2 – the first one which led to an early Ace for Grindsky at the 11-minute mark of the match. The second one came in the final clash when Grindsky went for the Nexus push to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Jeeya also provided support in the second match with a perfect 0-0-18 stat line on her Nami

GGTY managed to regain its foothold in the third game as it recovered from an early deficit against Grindsky. GGTY showed grit in the crucial team fights, limiting Hell Girl to a 1-1-0 line on her Renekton pick in Game 3.

Woof on the Ziggs and Rogue on the Orianna connived with 4-0-9 and 1-0-13 KDAs respectively. Jonez on her Darius also shone in the contest none bigger on her huge Apprehend skill that caught three champions on the side of Grindsky.

GGTY scored a four-man wipe to extend their series live to the Game 4 after its 15-4 win.

Grindsky, though, made sure to finish off series in the next game as AeAe took over for Grindsky using her jungle Lee-Sin pick that finished with a near-perfect 8-1-5 score line. Jeeya also showed up in the final match with a perfect 4-0-12 stat on the Lux.

Grindsky showed no let up and demolished GGTY, 20-4 to take the Sibol crown.
