Fake soldier with gun replica arrested in Imus, Cavite

IMUS CITY, Cavite – A man pretending to be a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was arrested on Wednesday (Feb. 2).

The suspect was identified as Villardo Zape Peradilla Jr., a 40-year-old resident of Barangay Bayan Luma 7.

The police received a report from a concerned citizen about a man wearing a military uniform and armed with a gun.

When confronted by responding police officers, the suspect presented identification cards with the AFP logo, which turned out to be fake.

Police arrested the suspect and confiscated his gun replica. He is being investigated for usurpation of authority, violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and violation of the election gun ban.
