Party-like atmosphere in Pasay City for pediatric vaccination on Feb. 7
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government is preparing a party-like atmosphere for the rollout of the city's vaccination of children, 5 to 11 years old, on Feb. 7.
Rubiano said the theme of having a party for the children was proposed to lighten the mood of those who will get vaccinated against COVID-19.
She said a mascot will be going around the vaccination site to entertain the children and will distribute chocolate chips and lollipops.
The mayor said the pre-registered children with comorbidities will receive their vaccines at the Pasay City General Hospital while the others will be at SM MOA Giga vaccination site and at Zamora Elementary School.
Rubiano said a town hall meeting on Feb. 1 which was participated in by the Department of Education personnel, barangay officials, and parents was held to know more about the details of the scheduled vaccination of children 5 to 11 years old.
She said during the town hall meeting, parents were made aware of the importance to register their children and receive the vaccine against the virus.
The mayor said the city government is also coordinating with other elementary schools in the city to be used as additional vaccination sites for children.
