Filipino imports suffer defeats in B.League

Thirdy Ravena couldn’t help his team end its slump while Dwight Ramos and Kobe Paras also suffered defeats Wednesday, Feb. 2 in Japan’s B.League.

Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix lost for the sixth straight time after being defeated by the Gunma Crane Thunders, 101-68, at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

He had 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals but committed four turnovers as the Neophoenix dropped to 4-25.

Ramos produced 10 points and four rebounds but the Toyama Grouses were beaten by the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 91-75, at the Toyama City Gymnasium to fall 13-20 on the Japanese league season.

Paras’ Niigata Albirex saw its two-game winning run come to an end at the hands of Utsunomiya Brex, who rolled to a 74-51 triiumph in front of their home supporters at the Brex Arena.

Niigata, which swept Ibaraki over the weekend to snap a 26-game skid, fell to 4-28.

Kiefer Ravena, Ray Parks Jr. and Matthew Aquino were again left on the shelf after their games were postponed due to COVID-19.

Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars were supposed to play the Mikawa Sea Horses while the game pitting Parks’ Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and Aquino’s Shinshu Brave Warriors was also put on hold.
