Did Derek Ramsay just announce his retirement from showbiz?

This is the question asked by netizens after Derek Ramsay answered an online user who expressed longing seeing him on the small screen.

The comment read: "I miss you sir Derek ramsay. Sana magkaproject ka na uli sa GMA. Dedma ka na lang sa mga negatrollss."

Derek replied: "retired."

Just a few weeks ago, Derek talked about his decision to “freeze” his deal with GMA.

Recall that last April 2019 when Derek signed an exclusive contract with the network. But after three years, he only made one project with them, which was the drama series “The Better Woman” along with former girlfriend Andrea Torres.

Note that since the pandemic happened, he hasn’t accepted any work that require lock-in taping.

“Freeze, suspended, it’s more like it,” he said then. “Yes, it’s true... na choice ko at choice ng GMA.”
