Comelec: No reso yet on request to allow OVP's pandemic initiatives during campaign period
By Jel Santos

There is no resolution yet from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on the request of presidential aspirant Vice President Ma. Lenonor “Leni” G. Robredo to allow the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to continue its COVID-19 pandemic initiatives during the campaign period.
Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said the request of Robredo has already been heard and submitted for resolution.
“This has already been heard and submitted for resolution to the Commission. So we are going to wait for that resolution, hindi pa siya (it is not) available, “ he said during a virtual press briefing on Thursday, Feb. 3.
“Well, basically saying no resolution yet.”
However, Jimenez did not give an exact date when the resolution on matter would be released.
In January, Robredo has asked the poll body to let OVP’s pandemic initiatives continue—free COVID-19 antigen testing, teleconsultation, and vaccination projects—even during the campaign period, which begins on Feb. 8.
Under the Section 13 of the Comelec's Resolution 10747, candidates are required to secure a certificate of exception for "projects, activities, and programs pertaining to social welfare projects and services."
There will be a ban on the release, disbursement, or expenditures of public funds from March 25 until May 8, per the Omnibus Election Code.
