3 arrested for selling fake vax cards in Quiapo

Three men selling fake vaccination cards were arrested by members of the Manila Police District (MPD) in a buy-bust operation in Quiapo on Tuesday, Feb. 1.

MPD director Brig. Gen. Leo M. Francisco said the suspects -- Ricardo Villareal Lugtu, 20; Rafael Gatan Cayabyab, 41; and Samil Adjiul Asmadi, 23 – were nabbed by MPD Station 14 operatives in Lakay Printing Services store on Quezon Boulevard in Quiapo.

According to the MPD report, the three suspects sold fake COVID-19 vaccination cards for P 500 each.

They are now under the custody of MPD and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 11332, the ”Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act” and falsification of public documents before the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office. (Terence L. Ranis)
