Vote Pilipinas launches Candidate Profile Dashboard to combat misinformation, educate voters
By Jel Santos
In a bid to combat misinformation and educate the electorate, Vote Pilipinas---the official voter information campaign partner of the Commission on Elections (Comelec)---launched on Monday, Feb. 28, the Candidate Profile Dashboard which contains salient information about candidates for president, vice-president, senator, and party-list representative.

The said dashboard, available at www.votepilipinas.com, provides voters with candidates' political and professional experience, the laws they've contributed, and their stand on key issues.
Ces Rondario, founder of Vote Pilipinas, said the dashboard of candidates’ profiles aims to provide the electorate with a better perspective of candidates who are vying for their votes.
According to her, the names of the candidates are arranged alphabetically.
The photos of the candidates are also available on the said dashboard.
"We also added Actions and/or proceedings, these are cases that are filed per candidate. All of these are available online and we have been talking with FOI (Freedom of Information) and other partners in making sure that we are getting publicly available information. We're just aggregating everything, " she said.
As such, Rondario said that candidates', Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth or SALNs are also posted on their respective profiles if they were made publicly available.
Campaign details of candidates such as campaign managers, their current and former political parties, and their major donors, she added.
Rondario said their team of hardworking researchers has worked for three months just to collate all the available data about the candidates.
Meanwhile, Vote Pilipinas said the profiles of senatorial candidates will be made available on March 14.
Rondario said the reason for the holdback is that there are many senatorial candidates and that the team is still waiting for feedback from some candidates.
The Comelec has lauded the Vote Pilipinas for their effort in educating the electorate by making verified data about candidates available online.
