Sara explains what makes 2022 campaign different from 2019

Vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio noted one big difference between the campaign period during the 2019 elections and the 2022 elections--the pressure factor.

In a press conference late Monday afternoon, Feb. 28 at the Triple Crown Ranch, Diversion Road, Davao City, the presidential daughter was asked to compare her experiences between the campaign period three years ago and now.

Her answer was short and candid.

"For this 2022, campaigning for myself, mayroon pressure. Noon kasi walang pressure (there is pressure. Back then there was no pressure)," she said.

"Ngayon, mayroon pressure talaga na makipag-usap sa mga tao at tanungin sila kung ano yung mga maitulong ko sa kanila and tanungin sila kung paano ko makuha yung boto nila. So may pressure doon (Now, there's real pressure to talk to people and ask them what I can do to help and ask them how I can get their votes. So there's pressure in that regard)," Duterte-Carpio added.

It can be recalled that Duterte-Carpio spent a great deal of her time campaigning for the Hugpong ng Pagbabago’s (HNP) pro-administration Senate slate in 2019. Although she was running for reelection then as Davao mayor, she became the face of the HNP ticket during its sorties around the country.

Now, the lady official is the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats' (CMD) vice presidential bet in the May 2022 polls. She is also the current Lakas-CMD chairperson.
