Palace thanks public for making downshift to Alert Level 1 possible
"It's all thanks to you."
Malacañang has expressed its gratitude to the people for their sacrifices amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, saying their cooperation was what made the shift of 39 areas in the country to Alert Level 1 possible.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles made the statement following the announcement that Metro Manila and 38 other areas will be under Alert Level 1, the least strict among all risk classification categories, from March 1 to 15, 2022.
In his press briefing on Monday, February 28, Nograles thanked the people in areas under Alert Level 1 for their cooperation.
"Salamat po sa inyong kooperasyon at pagsunod sa minimum public health standards, pakikipagbayanihan para makapagpabakuna o magpa-booster, at sa mga sakripisyo ng inyong inialay, malampasan lamang natin itong pandemya (Thank you for your cooperation and adherance with the minimum public health standards, cooperation in vaccination or getting the booster shot, and sacrifices so that we can overcome the pandemic)," he said.
"Nakarating po tayo dito dahil sa inyong lahat (We made it this far because of you)." he added.
On Sunday, Malacañang released the set of approved guidelines for areas under Alert Level 1. Included in the guidelines are the easing of operational capacity in mass gatherings, establishments, and public transportation; and the requirement for those 18 years old and up to present proof of full vaccination before entering an establishment or joining certain activities, including election-related ones.
Meanwhile, for the first half of March 2022, a total of 66 areas in the country will be under Alert Level 2.
In the same press briefing, Nograles expressed confidence that even Alert Level 2 areas may de-escalate to Alert Level 1 sooner rather than later.
"We are seeing the same levels of cooperation in other areas and observing the same patterns of progress even in areas that are still under Alert Level 2," he explained.
"If these are sustained, we are confident that more areas in the country will be placed under Alert Level 1," he added.
