TERNATE, Cavite – A chartered minibus fell off Capayas Bridge in Barangay Sapang II on Sunday (Feb. 27), injuring the driver and his 31 passengers who had just come from a family outing.
Ternate Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Sixto Caisip Jr. told the Manila Bulletin that seven victims, including the driver, sustained serious injuries.
They were immediately taken to Naic Doctors Hospital, San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital in Naic, and Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires.
Victims who suffered minor wounds, meanwhile, were taken to Cavite Municipal Hospital in Maragondon.
Caisip said the victims, who were part of a clan, were on their way home to Naic from an outing in Patungan Beach in Maragondon.
The driver lost control of the vehicle due to a brake malfunction.
