La Union cop with good heart, looks steals netizens' hearts

LA UNION -- A police officer assigned to the 102nd Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force battalion 1 (RMFB1) here has been stealing the hearts of netizens not just because of his good looks but more so because of his good deeds.

Cpl. Lorden Gamueda was in Balbalang town in San Gabriel, La Union last week with the RMFB1 Technical Support Company for a police project when he spotted an old man who needed help.

Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) said Gamueda spotted the old man identified as Angelo Guyab Sr. trying to cross a narrow and dangerous bridge to participate in the police program.

Guyab was having difficulty in crossing the bridge when Gamueda lifted him and carried him across the bridge to safety.

Hundreds of netizens were impressed and admired Gamueda after photos of him crossing the bridge while carrying the old man made their way to social media.

“We should strive to be a blessing to those around us by showing them that we care and that they are important to us,” Gamueda said.

A proud netizen posted on Facebook: “Our clan is so proud of you.We salute you kaanakan.Serve in the name of the Lord ; Good job. Listen! May your tribe increase. Ang taong may busilak na puso, mapagmahal, maawain at nakakaintindi. May God's protection be granted unto you anak; Wow,, I SALUTE U SIR,@ Lorden Tarifa Gamueda Sana ganyan lahat mga kapulisan...Good job anak and many more."

“Nasiyahan at masarap sa pakiramdam lalo na ang mapasaya ang ibang tao sa pagtulong,” Gamueda told Manila Bulletin. (It feels good that you are able to bring happiness to people by helping them.)
