Jankurt “Kurttzy” Matira and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera admitted that it felt good to finally beat Blacklist International after seasons of futility against the M3 World Champions which dominated the past tow season of the MPL Philippines.

The 2-0 sweep even came sweeter for the two after they shocked Blacklist with the Johnson-Kadita combo in the series clinching Game 2.

“Last three seasons po di po ako nakakabawi sa kanila kaya parang gustong gusto ko po sila talunin. Ang sarap sa feeling kasi natalo ko na po sila,” said Yawi who has been in the losing end of his match-up against Blacklist back when he was still with the Nexplay Evos.

In fact, it was the Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario-led Blacklist that eliminated NXPE with a 3-0 sweep in the lower bracket semifinals last season.

Kurrttzy had the same feeling against Blacklist with ECHO falling twice in the eliminations last season.

“Ganun din po sa akin masarap po sa feeling na matalo sila, tsaka si Hadji rin, siya kasi yung kasama ko sa Omega,” said Kurttzy.

Kurttzy and Yawi were the biggest thorn to the side of Blacklist after they selected Johnson and Kadita.

The two went berserk and helped ECHO dominate the team fights and take map control as it confined Blacklist to its base for the most part of the match. Kurttzy finished with a 0-2-17 line while Yawi added 0-4-14 KDAs respectively.

Interestingly, the two also made a switch up as it was Kurttzy who utilized the Johnson although it was still Yawi’s Kadita who was equipped with roam boots.

“Pag bored po kasi ako yun lang po yung ginagawa ko sa account ko, mag drive ng Johnson tapos nung tinitry po namin, ayun po ako na lang yung gumamit,” Kurt explained.
