Ex-cop nabbed in gun raid in Negros city

BACOLOD CITY - A former policeman was arrested in a gun raid in Barangay Prosperidad, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, Feb. 26.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Negros Occidental raided the house of Jonathan Sumiller, 76, who was arrested in 2020 for the death of his cousin, according to Police Lt. Ruby Aurita, deputy police chief of San Carlos City Police Station.

Authorities recovered during the raid 15 live ammunition of .9mm caliber, a .9mn caliber pistol, two magazines, and 22 other live ammunition.

Sumiller is now under the custody of the CIDG.
