Dex Star plays catch-up as Blacklist continues to grope for form

Blacklist International veteran Dexter “Dex Star” Alaba revealed that he has yet to catch up with his younger teammates since his return to action after a 17-month lull from competitive play.

Blacklist’s 2-0 loss to ECHO was only Dex Star’s second game since getting reinserted to the main five in place of fellow veteran Jason “Eson” Gerardo following the squad's 0-2 start.

His return, however, couldn’t change Blacklist’s fortune in the second week as it came out empty in its two games against ECHO and NXPE.

“Ako kailangan ko pa rin kasi talagang maghabol kasi ang tagal kong ‘di nakapag laro so kailangan kong habulin kung ano yung level nila, kahit ‘di habulin basta makasabay lang,” said Dex Star during the team’s post-game presser.

It’s not only Dex Star who has a lot of catching up to do as the M3 World Champions still groping for form following the absence of the dynamic duo of Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario.

Dex Star said the team still needs to work on its chemistry and macro play as the team fights for major objectives proved to be a recurring problem for the squad.

“Sa akin siguro yung macro play namin kasi magagaling naman sila individual pero sa clash, ayun pa yung kailangan na iimprove talaga. Katulad halimbawa may team fights sino yung tatargetin,” said Dexstar.

Oheb echoed the sentiments saying that the team still lacked the chemistry which the Season 7 and 8 versions of the team already had.

“Sa ano rin sa chemistry, chemistry wins games talaga,” said Oheb.

“Ayon kasi yung nabuo nung Season 8 at Season 7, yung kahit napakit na sila (alam na yung gagawin), kindat na lang,” Dex Star added.

The team, however, vows to keep working to find the winning formula for the new-look Blacklist squad.

“Di naman kami tumitigil kakapractice, ginagawa naman namin yung best namin tuwing match tsaka para ayaw din naman namin na matalo ng matalo,” Oheb stressed.
