Bello entitled to own opinion 'no matter how worthless' — Marcos spox

The camp of aspiring president Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Friday hit vice presidential candidate Walden Bello for his comment on Marcos Jr.'s team's absence in the debates, although they acknowledged his rights to his opinion "no matter how worthless."

Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.’s spokesman, said Bello, "who is fond of quarreling, has the right to his own opinion."

This came after Bello called as "undemocratic gesture" in an ANC interview Marcos Jr.'s and his running mate vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio's refusal to join in the debates.

"We respect his freedom of speech, and we wish that he finds peace of mind and humility to acknowledge the needs of the country for unity to address the crisis we are facing," Rodriguez added in Filipino.
