1 injured in P5-M fire in Muntinlupa village

A fire officer was injured during a blaze that razed a house and townhouse units in Muntinlupa on Feb. 28.

According to the Muntinlupa City Fire Station, the fire started at 3:35 p.m. at a house owned by Gabriel Ripoll Jr. on Yuchengco Drive in Pacific Malayan Village in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa.

The blaze burned down the house and three two-story townhouse units. The fire was placed under control at 4:19 p.m. and was put out at 5:21 p.m.

The fire station said the blaze started in the storage room at the back portion of the house. Four families or nine individuals were affected by the fire.

Fire Officer 2 Christian Karl Garcia was injured, according to the report.

Probers estimated the damage to property at P5 million.

A total of 30 fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the fire. Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
