Five people were arrested and P340,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized by the police in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City on Feb. 26.

Elements from the Southern Police District (SPD) Drug Enforcement Unit together with the District Intelligence Division and District Mobile Force Battalion launched the operation at about 8:10 p.m. resulting in the arrest of suspects Norhaima Guiamadel, 35; Johria Latip, 19; Saguira Datuan, 35; Jojo Basilio, 27; and Maida Usman, 20.
Seized from them were 11 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 50 grams with an estimated value of P340,000 and one P500 bill used as buy-bust money.
The police brought the arrested suspects to the SPD-DDEU office for documentation. The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“Our operatives do not stop in carrying out drug operations in our area and try their best to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in our community because most of the crimes that happen are related to illegal drug use,” said SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.
