Nexplay Evos notched its third straight win following a 2-0 sweep of Bren Esports in the MPL Philippines Season 9 on Sunday, Feb. 27.

NXPE continues to roll as its quintet led by Jeniel “Yellyhaze” Bata-anon and Michael “MP the King” Endino denied Bren a winning end to its grueling Week 2 schedule where it played three games in a three days span.
NXPE was quick to assert its objective-based gameplay as Ureshii on the Benedetta and Hesa on the Popol and Kupa focused on melting the towers of Bren Esports.
The lane pressure and NXPE’s vision game with the traps from Yellyhaze’s Selena and Hesa’s PnK also allowed MP the King to take the jungle control against Saxa’s Ling.
Bren, though, held its ground against the non-stop pressure as it emerged as the better team during the team fight for the first Lord at the nine-minute mark. Flaptzy keyed the Lord steal as it caught MP the King on his Gloo’s ultimate.
Bren repeated the Lord steal in the next team fight but NXPE managed to punish Bren for the contest as it took out four heroes to the side of Bren. NXPE then went for the death push against Saxa who was left alone to defend the base as it took a 12-6 Game 1 win.
It was the same story in Game 2, if not, a much cleaner execution for NXPE as Ureshiii on the Valentina pick and Yellyhaze on the Cecilion provided the damage for NXPE.
Not even the insertion of veteran Alan “Lusty” Castromayor and rookie Jomari “Jowm” Pingol could salvage a victory for Bren. Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara, despite getting delayed in the farm in the early going of the match, managed to catch up and still lead the way for NXPE with a 6-0-2 KDA on his Beatrix.
Ureshii also finished with a perfect line of 4-0-9 KDA while Yellyhaze added a 3-0-10 score line.
