Man injured after car crashes into concrete barrier in QC

A man was injured after his car crashed into a concrete barrier along EDSA-Kamuning Fly-over in Quezon City early Sunday morning, Feb. 27.

Pol. Lt. Vincent Dominic Lucina of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victim as Arni John Tornea Jr., 37, a call center agent, and a resident of 7th Avenue, West Caloocan City.

According to the report of the QCPD District Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) Traffic Sector 3, Torneo was driving a Toyota Fortuner along EDSA Northbound, coming from Cubao and heading towards Quezon Avenue.

At around 3:05 a.m., Torneo’s car hit the bus carousel concrete barrier, turning the car upside down due to the impact.

The report said that Torneo allegedly fell asleep while driving.

The victim was rushed to the St. Luke Medical Hospital for treatment of injuries. He was later transferred to the East Avenue Medical Hospital.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
