OCTA: Aurora, Quezon 'very low risk' for COVID-19

Aurora and Quezon are now classified as “very low risk” for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), an OCTA Research fellow said on Saturday, Feb. 26.

OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David, in a tweet, said that with its improved COVID-19 indicators, Aurora and Quezon are now under the “very low risk classification” of the disease.

“National Capital Region (NCR) at low risk with a positivity rate of four percent. Aurora Quezon at very low risk. Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Rizal, and Zambales at low risk,” said David.

Aurora, David said, has an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 0.74 while Quezon’s ADAR is at 0.37 with a positivity rate of 3 percent.

ADAR pertains to the seven-day average number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Tarlac, on the other hand, remained at the “moderate risk” classification with a “very high” positivity rate of 28 percent.

David likewise noted that Metro Manila remained at the “low risk” classification with its “moderate” ADAR of 2.30 and positivity rate of four percent.

Aside from Metro Manila, other areas under the low risk category are Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Rizal, and Zambales.
