Support from opposition bailiwick-Iloilo 'impresses' UniTeam

The BBM-Sara UniTeam campaign team was "impressed" by the turnout of supporters that showed up during its rally in Iloilo despite the province being a known opposition bailiwick.

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., also referred to as BBM, and his running mate aspiring vice president Sara Duterte-Carpio held Thursday a campaign rally at the football field of Barotac Nuevo town that their camp said "draw huge crowd."

"The turnout of people is impressive to say the least, since Iloilo is considered opposition territory," Duterte-Carpio's Lakas-CMD party said in a media release Friday.

Former Iloilo 4th District Rep. Ferjenel Biron, who is seeking a comeback in the Congress, said "the grand rally was very successful."

"We will work hard to ensure UniTeam candidates' victory," he added.

Marcos Jr.'s and Duterte-Carpio campaign rally in Iloilo came a day after they attempted to woo another Ilonggosâ€”those who are from Negros Occidental.

Marcos Jr. lost in Iloilo and Negros Occidental during the 2016 vice presidential race against Leni Robredo, who is now also his rival in the presidential bid.
