The Pasay City government and the Department of Agriculture (DA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to help 10 cooperatives in the city that were severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and DA Undersecretary for Consumer and Political Affairs Kristine Evangelista-Aquino signed the MOA on Monday, Feb. 21, at the Pasay City Astrodome.
Pasay City Cooperative Development Office officer-in-charge Rowena Buenaventura said the MOA will help establish “Kadiwa Mobile Palengke (market)” to help the 10 cooperatives in the city affected by the pandemic.
Buenaventura said the DA also gave P50,000 each to the 10 cooperatives to start their own Kadiwa Mobile Palengke (market).
She said the DA will also help the cooperatives in buying their goods from upland and lowland farmers at a cheaper price.
Rubiano said each cooperative will have their schedule every Saturday and Sunday at the city’s 201 barangays for their Kadiwa Mobile Palengke (market)”
