Chiz opens Sorsogon to all candidates

TACLOBAN CITY – Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero said his province remains open to all presidential bets in the coming May 9 elections.

"My job is to open the province to all candidates for the people to know them and choose with basis," he explained.

He added that he does not approve of provinces that shut their doors to candidates who are not preferred by the sitting local officials.

“Has anyone of the candidates discussed his or her solutions to the problems of our country yet? We need to hear their platforms first,” Escudero said during his visit to Leyte on the second day of his campaign tour.

Escudero said he wants to hear how the candidates will discuss their plans for the country in the coming days first.

Escudero, who also expressed his support for An Waray Party-list is running for senator under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).

He is a guest candidate of Vice-President Leni Robredo, Senator Panfilo Lacson, and Senator Manny Pacquiao.

He is also backed by Vice-Presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, the running-mate of presidential candidate and former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
