TALISAY CITY, Cebu — Presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan on Thursday, Feb. 24, were joined by his wife, megastar Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan here as they addressed their pink-clad supporters to campaign for their bid to the country’s top two posts.

The crowd here went wild and screamed in admiration of Cuneta who went on stage with her husband for the Cebu leg of the tandem’s campaign sortie.

The actress vouched for the two candidates, underscoring their clean track record and unblemished character.

"Kulay rosas araw-araw kapag ibinoto nyo sina Leni at Kiko. Walang magugutom. Ako lang ang magugutom kasi gusto kong pumayat (Everyday will turn into color of roses if you vote for Leni and Kiko. No one will be hungry. I’m the only one who will starve because I want to be thin),” she said, eliciting laughter from their pink-clad supporters.

Pangilinan said that his celebrity wife, who made blockbuster movies during the 1980s to 1990s, will join more campaign sorties whenever her schedule permits.

Cuneta first joined her husband during his visits to Tarlac and Pampanga earlier this week. She wasn’t able to join the grand rallies in Naga City and Quezon City because she was busy taping for “Ang Probinsyano.”

“Yes, talaga namang . Of course, mayroong mga conflict sa mga schedules dahil nagso-shooting , si Aurora siya doon (Yes, she will really join. Of course, there are conflicts in the schedule because she is shooting for ‘Ang Probinsyano.’ She’s Aurora there),” Pangilinan said.

The senator shared that Cuneta’s character was abducted in the long-running teleserye.

“Eh ang sabi ko kailangan kong kausapin iyong mga dumakip sa kanya kasi paano naman ang kampanya ko (I said I need to talk to those who abducted her because what about my campaign)?” Pangilinan said in jest.
