P602,000 shabu seized; 9 arrested in Taguig, Pateros


Police arrested nine suspects and seized nearly P602,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in buy-bust operations in Pateros and Taguig on Feb. 23 and 24.

In Taguig, the Southern Police District (SPD) Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation at Old Housing in Barangay Maharlika at 2:45 a.m. on Feb. 24.

The operation resulted in the arrest of seven suspects identified as Rasul Gaylon, 18; Camilla Tabawan, 32; Dennis Ramir, 35; Samson Taha, 18; Litlie Laguialam, 23; Naora Saadudin, 38; and Theresa Reciproco, 41.

Seized during the operation were eight plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 76.5 grams with an estimated value of P520,200, one P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, and one digital weighing scale.

The arrested suspects are now under the custody of the SPD DEU while the seized illegal drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

“I commend our operatives in implementing anti-illegal drugs operations that resulted in the arrest of seven individuals and seizure of a large value of shabu. This will further help in our campaign against illegal drugs in our jurisdiction,” said SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.

In Pateros, the police arrested two suspects in a buy-bust operation at 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 23 on P. Herrera Street, Brgy. Aguho.

The SPD identified the suspects as Michelle Mendoza, 30, who is listed in the unified drugs watchlist, and Dave Calingo, 47.

Recovered from them were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 12 grams with a value of P81,600 and P500 buy-bust money.

The suspects, now under the custody of the Pateros police, will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and the seized drugs will be turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit.
