Bren Esports coach Paulo “Pauloxpert” Munsayac is taking it one game at a time as his squad faces a grueling schedule in the second week of the MPL Philippines Season 9.

Bren is set to play three games in the three-day span in Week 2, starting it off with a clash against the still unbeaten team RSG Philippines on Friday before it takes on Onic Philippines and Nexplay Evos on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

“Sa ginagawa namin ngayon, iniisa-isa muna namin instead of thinking the whole week. Tingin ko, kailangan muna naming i-take it one step at a time tapos focus muna kami sa RSG, although the next day na agad, that’s when I start thinking about Onic tsaka NXP the next day after that,” said Pauloxpert during the team’s pre-game presser on Thursday, Feb. 24.

In their last season’s head-to-head match, Bren never won in a series against RSG PH and lost both times, 2-1.

“I think importante yun na we take it one step at a time instead na kung ano-ano yung iniisip, super dami mo iniisip focus muna kami sa makuha namin ‘yung win sa RSG,” Coach Pau explained.

The Bren coach also stressed the importance of surviving the grueling week especially after the 2-0 debut loss against ECHO last week.

For Coach Pau, a winning record in Week 2 against RSG would be a huge morale booster for the team although he also admitted that a losing spell could mean that the team should go back to the drawing board and evaluate its lineup for the season.

“Pag manalo most of the series this week then obviously huge morale boost yun para sa team pero pag talo di ko rin masabi syempre we’ll try to find a solution,” he said.

“Even if kailangan namin pumunta sa substitute players namin para mabago yung performance naming, we will always try to find a solution to try and fix the problem.”
