Karina and Aljon star in first MMK episode together

Popular young stars Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza team up to portray the love story of Theza and John’s love story that defies social classes in their first "MMK" episode as a loveteam this Saturday (Feb.26).

Both Karina and Aljon shared their excitement in topbilling an episode in the longest-running weekly drama anthology, which was just a dream after coming out of the Pinoy Big Brother house years ago.

“Looking back, our fans have been asking for a KarJon episode since 2019,” said Aljon.

“We are grateful for the opportunities that come our way and why not make the most out of the blessings given? We love our friendship,” said Karina.

The young star feels the excitement and pressure of appearing on "MMK." “In preparing for my role, I try not to overthink and just let it flow,” she said. “I feel nervous but I see Theza in me as well so feeling so I think it will help as well.”

Aljon is also giving his best as this marks his third appearance in MMK. He shared, “It’s a different kind of pressure. I want to level up my performance. I am determined to perform well and give justice to the role I am playing.”

In the episode, Theza (Karina) comes from a poverty-stricken family and supports her mother, who is suffering from postpartum depression. While studying, she works as a crew member in a fast-food chain where he meets John (Aljon), who unlike her is born wealthy. Initially, Theza is apprehensive about entering a relationship with him because of their social status but falls for him eventually.

A few years later, as Theza fulfills her dreams of having her own business, her relationship with John slowly falls apart because of his insecurities.

How did Theza and John fix their relationship amidst the trials they faced?

Meanwhile as part of the 30th anniversary of "MMK," don't miss the "MMK X Viral Scandal Family Kilig Campaign" as part of the Tulong Tulong sa Pag-Ahon: Isang Daang Araw sa Pagtutulungan of ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation on March 9 (Wednesday) with Charo Santos Concio plus Karina and Aljon, and other special guests. During the night, Charo spearheads a one-to-two-hour marathon online with Aljon and Karina. Kapamilya artists who also made their mark on "MMK" will also grace the event.
