'Priceless' volunteers encourage Robredo; VP says they're 'worth fighting for'

MARAMAG, Bukidnon—Despite the lack of resources and machinery, Vice President Leni Robredo believes her supporters and volunteers make the elections a “fight worth fighting for.”

During a message here at the Maramag Municipal Hall here on Wednesday, Feb. 23, Robredo thanked the “all-out support” by her volunteers, adding that she was surprised to see so many of them during her visit to Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon.

“Nagulat naman ako nandito kayo. Alam niyo po pag nakikita ko 'yung mga volunteers, lalong lumalakas 'yung loob namin (I’m pleasantly surprised you are here. You know when I see the volunteers, we get more courageous),” she said.

“So, ako po (me) in far away Bukidnon, seeing you here today, binibigyan niyo po kami ng mas malaking pag-asa na (you are giving us big hopes that) this is a fight na (that’s) worth fighting for, it's a battle worth fighting for,” Robredo added.

The Vice President shared that many of their volunteers would come up to them to say that this May 2022 will be the first time for them to vote despite being adults already.

“Sabi ko po, isa lang 'yung gustong sabihin, ang gustong sabihin ang daming tao ngayon na invested sa eleksyon...Marami po 'yung first time boboto kasi ngayon lang nila naramdaman na kailangan na kailangan 'yung boto nila (That only means one thing, what the people want to say is they are invested in the elections...There are a lot of will vote for the first time because it is only that they feel their votes are truly needed),” she said.

Robredo called supporters and volunteers “priceless” because they believe there is still hope for the country.

The lone presidential aspirant asked people not only to campaign for her ticket, but to fight disinformation as well.

“Alam po natin, lalo na 'yung mga bata, kayo mga (We all know, especially the kids, you are the) digital natives, please help us– please help us fight disinformation kasi ito po 'yung (because this is the) number one na fine-face natin ngayon (we are facing today),” she said.
