PDEA operation in Mangaldan, Pangasinan yields P500,000 marijuana products

DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – More than P500,000 worth of various marijuana products were recovered by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Pangasinan in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Anolid, Mangaldan town, this province on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Rechie Camacho, PDEA-Pangasinan Provincial Officer, identified the suspect as Jhasper Base Dalan, a native of Capalonga, Camarines Norte, who sold 50 grams of high-grade marijuana called ‘Kush’ to an operative.

The sold marijuana weighed about 50 grams and was worth P50,000.

The suspect was immediately arrested after the transaction at his rented house where PDEA operatives found more assorted marijuana products.

The PDEA agents also discovered a portable greenhouse where Dalan cultures his homegrown marijuana using improvised household tools.

Also recovered were two kilos of marijuana fruit tops inside a jumbo sack, a jar of hashish oil which Dalan extracted, and several paraphernalia that Dalan uses in repackaging his products.

Camacho said Dalan’s modus is selling marijuana packed inside mushroom fruit bags.

He would then ship the mushroom fruit bags to clients inside and outside Pangasinan.

The PDEA is now tracking the parcel delivery companies to identify the packages used as cover for the illegal drug trade.
