
Award-winning director Eduardo Roy Jr. has passed away.
He was 41.
In an official statement published on PEP.ph, the sibling of the seasoned artist, Myla Roy, said: "It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Eduardo “Edong” Roy Jr. on February 21, 2022 at the Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City."
According to her, Eduardo died of "massive pulmonary embolism due to hospital acquired pneumonia."
"He had been diagnosed late last year with Burkitt’s Lymphoma Stage IV," she added.
Myla reiterated that Eduardo was a beloved son, brother, and friend.
Most know Eduardo as the writer and director of award winning films such as "Bahay Bata," "Quick Change," "Pamilya Ordinaryo," "Lola Igna," and "Fuccbois."
A wake will be held on Feb. 24 to 26 at the Arlington Memorial Chapels Hall A in G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.
