Shear line, 'amihan' to bring cloudy skies, rains over most parts of Luzon, Visayas

Most parts of Luzon and Visayas may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the shear line and northeast monsoon or "amihan," the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
The shear line or frontal system is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains showers and thunderstorms over Samar, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar.
Cloudy skies with rains due to the amihan may affect Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region.
PAGASA advised those in areas affected by the shear line and amihan to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides due to the occurrence of moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) may continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Davao Region and Caraga.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
Weather specialist Graca Castañeda said the LPA will likely remain outside the country's area of responsibility but may continue to bring rains over most parts of Mindanao.
PAGASA also advised the public to remain vigilant as severe thunderstorms may sometimes trigger flash floods or landslides.
