Over P4.4-M illegal drugs seized from 7 suspects in QC buy-busts

Seven drug suspects yielded a total of P4,442,000 worth of alleged shabu and marijuana in three buy-bust operations in Quezon City on Monday afternoon, Feb. 21, and early Tuesday morning, Feb. 22.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Talipapa Station (PS 3) identified the first four suspects as Ejay Roque, 28; Dionisio Gabriel, 37; Romel Ramota, 49; John Mark Bumagat, 20; all residents of Brgy. Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

Joint forces of the PS 3 Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Armed Forces of the Philippine's (AFP) Task Force Noah, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Intelligence Division, and Novaliches Station (PS 4) arrested the suspects on Upper Banlat St. in Brgy. Tandang Sora at around 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21.

Authorities caught the suspects having a "pot session." Confiscated from them were 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000, the buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.

Police said that the four suspects named their source of illegal drugs, which led to the arrest of Muslimin Mantil, 28, in another entrapment on Quirino Highway, in Barangay Bagbag at 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb 22. .

Mantil yielded around 550 grams of alleged shabu with a market value of P3,740,000. Also seized from him were a cellphone, buy-bust money, and an identification card.

Based on a tip from a confidential informant, two drug suspects were also nabbed by operatives of the QCPD Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) at the corner of Mendez Road and Sampalucan St. in Barangay Baesa on Monday, at around 4:15 p.m.

Police Lt. Col. Alex DJ Alberto, PS 10 commander, identified the suspects as Guilford Joshua Navarro, 22, a resident of Brgy. Sto Cristo, Quezon City; and Raniel Marte, 28, of Brgy. Bahay Toro, Quezon City.

Confiscated from the suspects were five kilograms of alleged marijuana leaves worth around P600,000 and a cellphone.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the seven suspects, police said.
