It was an instant fan meeting event with megastar Sharon Cuneta in Tarlac City as she accompanied her husband, vice presidential aspirant Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, in his campaign trail on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Clad in pink, Cuneta joined Pangilinan in a caravan around Tarlac and shared the stage with her husband in addressing a crowd of supporters, mostly farmers, at the Tarlac State University where she briefly sang one of her hit songs for her long-time fans.

Pangilinan said he had to "borrow" his wife from the set of Ang Probinsyano series, where Cuneta currently stars, in order to bring her with him in Tarlac to meet supporters.

During the meet and greet with farmers and volunteers, the megastar vouched for her husband of 25 years whom she describes as a good father and partner.

“Leni-Kiko po tayong lahat. Napakalinaw na po ng plano para po maibsan at masosolusyonan ang problema ng gutom sa bansa. At si Ma’am Leni at Kiko, wala pong bahid ng kahit anong pangit na isyu sa gobyerno. Simula 2001 pa po siya senador (Let's all support Leni-Kiko. Their plan to bring solution to the country's hunger is very clear. And Ma'am Leni and Kiko have no taint of any bad issue in the government. He has been a senator since 2001),” Cuneta said.

“Twenty-five years na po kaming kasal. Kahit anong tsismis, pero kung may tsismis man, hindi totoo iyon kasi dapat iniwan ko na iyan (We've been married for 25 years. Whatever rumors, if there are, I would've left him),” she said in jest.

It was the first time the seasoned actress and singer showed up in any of the public events of her husband ever since the campaign period kicked off last month.

Robredo's youngest daughter, Jillian, and Senatorial candidate Jose Manuel 'Chel' Diokno's daughter, Laya, also joined Pangilinan and Cuneta during their Tarlac visit.

During his speech at the Tarlac State University, Pangilinan reiterated his agriculture plans if elected to the second highest position in the land.

He emphasized his intention to focus on improving the country's agriculture sector in order to achieve national food security while bringing more opportunities to farmers and fishermen.

"Naniniwala tayo kapag ang mangingisda at magsasaka binigyan ng sapat na suporta, gaganda ang ani, gaganda ang huli, dadami ang suplay ng pagkain, ng produktong agrikultura, hindi na kinakailangang mag-angkat. At 'pag marami na ang suplay ng pagkain sa merkado, babagsak na ang presyo ng pagkain.
