Former La Salle standout Encho Serrano makes instant impact in PBA 3x3 debut

Encho Serrano did make a splash in his debut performance for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel after sharing topscoring honors in the first leg of the PBA 3x3 second conference.
The former La Salle standout compiled 46 points during his seven-game stint in the inaugural stage which saw Ginebra produce its best-ever finish in the halfcourt discipline by placing third.
Serrano with fellow newcomer Jayson David, a teammate for NBL champion Pampanga Delta, added spunk to the Ginebra squad and won all four games in Pool A before edging San Miguel Beer in the quarterfinals.
But Ginebra’s run ended when it lost to Meralco in the semis but settled for P30,000 with a win over first conference titlist Limitless in the battle for third.
Meralco’s Tonino Gonzaga equaled Serrano’s output after his team placed second to eventual champion TNT.
Gonzaga completed a stirring comeback after an injury late in the first conference squashed Meralco’s chances of winning the Grand Finals.
Limitless’ Brandon Rosser placed third with 45 points, TNT’s Almond Vosotros had 44 points after coming off a conference which he became scoring champion while new addition Ken Bono of San Miguel was fifth with 39 points.
