There is still no resolution on the request of presidential candidate Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” G. Robredo to allow the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to continue its COVID-19 pandemic initiatives during the campaign period.
The office of acting Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairperson Soccoro B. Inting on Monday, Feb.21, said the request has already been raffled to a ponente and that they are just waiting for the resolution of the ponencia.

The staff of Inting said that the request is now up for resolution as the matter was already raffled to a ponente last Feb. 7.
However, Comelec did not disclose the ponente of the resolution when asked by the media.
In January, Robredo has asked the poll body to let OVP’s pandemic initiatives continue—free COVID-19 antigen testing, teleconsultation, and vaccination projects—even during the campaign period, which began on Feb. 8.
Under Section 13 of the Comelec’s Resolution 10747, candidates are required to secure a certificate of exception for “projects, activities, and programs pertaining to social welfare projects and services.”
The ban on the release, disbursement, or expenditures of public funds is from March 25 until May 8, per the Omnibus Election Code.
