Rookies MP the King, Cadenza glad to deliver for NXPE

Nexplay Evos rookies Michael “MP the King” Endino and Kenneth “Cadenza” Castro were glad to finally deliver a victory for their squad following NXPE’s stunning 2-0 victory over Onic Philippines on Sunday, Feb.20.

The duo, which played a huge factor in the shocking sweep, was extra happy to finally showcase their talents in the big league while also proving that they can hold their own against the top players in the professional scene.

“Masaya kasi first time po namin to. Sobrang nakaka-proud kasi nagagawa ko yung mga nagagawa ko noon sa amateur tapos ngayon hanggang sa MPL nagagawa ko,” said Cadenza moments after the win.

Cadenza proved to be a thorn to the side of Onic as he put the clamps down on Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol by disrupting his jungle pattern. His Hilda pick in Game 2, with the help of veteran teammate Jeniel “Yellyhaze” Bata-anon’s Mathilda, was a huge factor as he soaked all of the damage from the Onic heroes.

On the other hand, MP the King, after sitting out NXPE’s first match, delivered in his debut with an uber-efficient objective-centered game on the jungle post.

Although the rookie players were glad that they were able to translate their fine plays from the amateur to the MPL, they admitted that the players and teams in the MPL were on a different league.

“Kahit parang ganun yung game namin, one sided pero inside the game parang nahihirapan pa rin (kami) isipin kung anong gagawin kasi sobrang lakas nila mag macro at mag micro,” MP the King said of the M3 runners-up Onic.

Although new to the league, the rookies also showed poise and composure as they bounced back from a forgettable S9 debut where they lost against RSG Philippines.

“Part talaga ng paglalaro yung matalo eh kaya ayun move on na lang and mag ready na lang sa next na laban,” said MP the King.

“Mas lalo namin pinag aralan yung magiging kalaban namin kinabukasan mas lalo kaming nagbatak para mapakitaan ng magandang laban,” he added.
