PCUP distributes 'go bags' to 'Odette'-affected families in Cebu
About a hundred families affected by the onslaught of typhoon Odette have received go bags from the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP).
A go bag is a survival kit packed with supplies such as, but not limited to, ready-to-eat food, medicine, first aid kit, and important documents. It is usually kept ready in case of an emergency that requires evacuation.

The distribution of go bags was held in Sitio Bonbon, Barangay Ocaña, Carcar City, Cebu on Feb. 20, the Commission said on Monday, Feb. 21.
Along the distribution, PCUP likewise held a seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) activities.
“Patuloy na magdadaos ang Komisyon ng mga kahalintulad na seminars at trainings upang magkaroon ng dagdag na impormasyon ang ating mga maralitang tagalungsod sa aspeto ng disaster preparedness at safety from danger (The Commission will continue to hold similar seminars and trainings to provide additional information to the urban poor on the aspects of disaster preparedness and safety from danger),” said PCUP chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alvin Feliciano in a press statement.
