Marcos camp explains why Bongbong pulled hand away from supporter

There is nothing wrong with presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s refusal to shake a supporter's hand.

For Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.'s spokesman, pulling one's hand away is a "normal reaction" when one is pinched or hurt.

"Kahit kanino mo gawin 'yun, para kang nagulat (You'll get shocked when it's done to you) but it doesn't mean anything," Rodriguez told reporters on Monday, Feb. 21.

His remark came after a video showing Marcos Jr. shunning a supporter in Caloocan City during his motorcade went viral on social media over the weekend.

Initially, Marcos Jr.'s camp reasoned out that the reason why he did that was because he had an injury on his wrist.

However, social media users were quick to point out that the injury was on his left hand and not on his right hand, which the supporter was trying to reach.

Rodriguez asked the public not to make an issue out of the incident.

"We rather not dignify the undignif way of campaigning and peddling of lies again being resorted to by some of our rivals," he said.
