Manila's choice for president is Marcos, Bongbong camp claims

The city of Manila is not at all the bailiwick of aspiring president Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso but of his rival candidate, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., the Marcos camp claimed over the weekend.

"Judging with the way people of Manila gave their warm reception and support to presidential bet Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., there was no denying that he is the top choice for president of the country's capital," said Marcos Jr.'s camp.

This after the survey frontrunner held his campaign rally in Manila on Sunday night, drawing a crowd of supporters coming from the home turf of Domagoso.

Manila mayoral aspirant Alex Lopez, who will fight against Domogoso's ally and possible successor Honey LacuÃ±a, said Marcos Jr. "will make the best president."

"He has the vision, he has the heart, he has the will power," Lopez said.

Marcos Jr.'s camp said their presidential bet "bravely conquered" the Manila streets only to reach out to the residents for two hours.

"The streets of Manila were filled with love for Marcos as he accepted red roses from city residents and was warmly welcomed by supporters by waving flags, dancing, and marching bands," said his camp in a statement.

"Most of the supporters, especially the elderly, were also crying for joy as they waved their banners and tarpaulins. Even Grab riders stopped for a while to have a glimpse of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard- bearer," it added.
