10 more schools join F2F classes in Parañaque City

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said 10 more schools will be opened for the expanded face-to-face classes through “Hylearn Learning.”

Olivarez said the city government has five existing schools that are currently adopting the face-to-face classes -- two elementary schools and three high schools.

He said the pilot run of the face-to-face classes was held at the Don Galo Elementary School and at La Huerta Elementary School but was temporarily stopped due to the surge in COVID-19 cases brought by the Omicron variant.

The mayor held a meeting with Paranaque City Schools Division superintendent Dr. Evangeline P. Ladines and the City Health Office under Dr. Olga Vistusio before deciding on the resumption of classes for the two elementary schools.

Olivarez said the children allowed to attend the face-to-face classes must be vaccinated and with consent from the parents.

He said that on Feb. 14, face-to-face classes through “Hylearn Learning” were formally launched at the Paranaque National High School main campus.

The mayor said face-to-face classes were also opened at the Arcadio National High School and at Baclaran National High School.

Olivarez added that the city government distributed additional laptops, tablets and android phones to students, internet connectivity to the school campus, and other needs of the students for the hybrid learning.
