The wife of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation Director Linconn Ong on Sunday thanked Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Senators Panfilo Lacson and Richard Gordon for allowing her husband to visit their son who has dengue.

In a statement, Summer Ong thanked the three senators and the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee for “whatever consideration” they have given her husband on that matter.

“I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to Senate President Tito Sotto and to Senator Panfilo Lacson for the kind words and understanding of my fervent request on behalf of my son,” Mrs. Ong said in her letter to the senators.

“I also wish to thank Senator Richard Gordon and the Blue Ribbon committee in advance for whatever consideration they are willing to provide for my husband Linconn Ong,” she further mentioned.

According to Mrs, Ong, their son has been discharged from the hospital but will continue his medication at home.

“Hopefully he can derive more strength from spending time with his daddy and recover faster,” she said.

Mrs. Ong also reiterated her assurance that her husband, together with his family, is ready and will continue to face the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s invstigation regarding the issue on the procurement of overpriced COVID-19 supplies by the government from Pharmally.

“We do implore the kind Senators to please let my husband stay home in the meantime to help rebuild our family, our lives, and to prepare us to face whatever may come,” she said.

“As I have said in my letters, let me assure you, as one family, we are willing to face whatever challenges and trials together,” the Pharmally executive’s wife further said.

Ong and Pharmally Corporate Secretary Mohit Dargani were turned over to the Pasay City Jail last November 2021 after they failed to disclose the whereabouts of the documents regarding their company’s financial statements.

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee earlier released its partial committee report on its investigation on the Commission on Audit (COA) report where it flagged the P42-billion COVID-19 funds from the Department of Health (DOH) to the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM-PS).

Of this amount, P8.6-billion was given to Pharmally for the purchase of face masks, face shields and other personal protective equipment (PPEs) despite the fact it was an undercapitalized company that only had P625,000 paid-up capital when it entered into a negotiation with the government.

The Senate blue ribbon panel has recommended the filing of criminal charges against ong, Dargani and several government officials and individuals involved in the alleged anomalous deal.
