Over 200 pcs of explosives, firearms recovered by QC police in a house basement
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Holy Spirit Station (PS 14) personnel recovered 205 pieces of explosives and firearms, as well as ammunition hidden at the basement of a house in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City on Saturday evening, Feb. 19.
The PS 14 received the report of the discovery from Teshary Salas, 28, daughter of the deceased Arthur Agpalo, a man involved in a shooting incident last Thursday, Feb. 17.
Salas found the evidences in a suspicious bunker at the basement of their house at Rosal Street, Pingkian 2, Zone 2, Brgy. Pasong Tamo on Saturday at around 10:05 p.m.
Agpalo was a member of a group involved in a shooting incident on Feb. 14. He was tracked down by the PS 14 in a hot pursuit operation last Thursday where he was killed in a shootout in Brgy. Pasong Tamo, after taking seven individuals as hostages and firing at the police officers.
The police recovered two rifle grenades, a fragmentation hand grenade, four .38 revolvers, an improvised shotgun, one pistol with and undetermined caliber, 34 pieces of 12, guage shotgun, 160 pieces of live ammunition, and two M-16 empty magazines.
The grenades were transferred to the District Explosive Ordinance Disposal Canine Unit (DECU), while the firearms and ammunition were turned over to the Firearms Identification Division (FAID) in Camp Crame, Quezon City for proper investigation and disposition, police said.
