Oasis Gaming, Naos Esports top respective groups in VCT PH


Oasis Gaming and Naos Esports each secured a second round upper bracket seat after topping their respective groups at the end of the group stage of the VCT 2022 Challengers PH on Sunday, Feb. 20.

Oasis finished atop the Group A standings with a 4-2 record while Naos sustained its impressive start finishing with a 5-1 record to keep its hold of the number one seed in Group B.

After starting the second week of the group stage on a wrong foot following the forfeiture on one of its map that eventually led to a loss to Team Secret, Oasis recovered and capped the group stage with a 2-0 sweep of Bren Esports.

Naos, on the other hand, picked where it left off from last week, losing only once against Looking For Org. It capped the its stellar group stage run with convincing 2-0 sweeps of Zeal Esports and South Build Esports.

Tournament favorites Team Secret after struggling in the first week, got its bearing back and swept all of its assignment in the second week to improve to a 3-3 standing and catch the playoff bus at the second spot in Group A.

It will face South Built which ended the group stage as the third seed in the Group B with a 2-4 win-loss slate.

In the other bracket, Group B number two team Zeal Esports which had a 3-3 standing will take on the Group A third seed Action PH with the same 3-3 record.

Bren Esports and Looking for Org were eliminated in the tournament after finishing dead last in the standings. Bren and LFO both had an identical 2-4 record.
